JOMO - the Joy of Missing Out.

Urgency is so hot right now.
FOMO blasts from all the angles. Trying to hook our emotions, trying to get into our pockets, seeking more of our time and attention. The posts fly by... "BREAKING!!!" "TRENDING!!!" People rush to be first to know a morsel of information. Any morsel. Anything that will make them feel first. Important. If only for a moment. Cultural momentum yells, "information overload is a moral imperative!"
Check the trending. Watch for flash sales. Doom scroll the feeds. We might miss out.
But on what?
Quiet questions emerge from the last refuge of silence in our minds; "what am i running for? what am i running to? what changes if i catch it? is there something else?"
In short, yes. Miss out. Just let yourself miss out. Relax the muscles, release the grip, and just let your hand open. Consider the power of silence, washing over you like warm water. Imagine what it feels like to be calm, with all the time in the world.
Consider:
For with much wisdom comes much sorrow. And as knowledge increases, grief increases. Ecclesiastes 1:18
Ponder:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
Is simplicity the enemy? Or is it what we're chasing?
